Artisoft and America Online Partner to Bring Small Business to the Web

New Service Offers Cost-Effective, All-In-One Web Hosting Solution

(TUCSON, AZ-November 11, 1996) -Artisoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASFT) announced today its new 'Artisoft® FirstWeb SM by America Online® PrimeHost' delivered by America Online (NYSE: AOL). Tailored specifically for small businesses, FirstWeb provides a reliable, low cost, all-in-one Web hosting service to create, publish and manage a World Wide Web site quickly and easily. It is expected to be available before the end of 1996 for only $49 per month, with a one time setup charge of $49. FirstWeb is part of Artisoft's new series of Internet solutions for small businesses. The service works seamlessly with Artisoft i.Share 2.0 Internet access sharing software and enhances Artisoft XtraMail Internet e-mail software. FirstWeb will be marketed by Artisoft as a complementary service to Artisoft's other Internet software, as well as to Artisoft's networking and computer telephony solutions.

Small business Internet usage in the U.S. is growing rapidly, with the number of small businesses going online expected to grow from 1.7 million establishments in 1996 to 5.4 million by the year 2000, according to IDC/Link.

FirstWeb will let companies set up their own domain name and will use high-speed T3 Internet connections with round-the-clock site monitoring. Customers can start constructing their Web sites within minutes after signing up for the service through Artisoft's World Wide Web site at Web pages can be easily created using the free, award-winning AOLpress authoring software, which includes Web templates. Special Web templates, designed specifically for Artisoft resellers, will also be available. Users can save pages onto a site instantly, and also manage links and periodic page changes.

FirstWeb lets a company in the U.S. or Canada establish its own domain name, thus enabling a smaller business to look more professional via its distinctive and "uniquely branded" Web address. The service provides a 20 MB site (approximately 640 pages at 30K apiece), as well as 600k bandwidth per month and ongoing FTP access. There is also a control panel for administration and log statistics.


Free technical support and customer service will be provided by America Online PrimeHost , 7 days a week, 18-hours-per-day, as well as 24-hour site monitoring.
