(TUCSON, AZ - Oct. 17, 1996) - Artisoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASFT) announced today a new Computer Telephony (CT) Partner Alliance Program, designed to accelerate delivery of CT solutions to small business through specially trained and certified resellers. The program will be introduced at a CT Recruitment and Training Tour, co-sponsored by Dialogic Corporation (Nasdaq: DLGC), which has teamed with Artisoft to offer a series of bundled CT solutions. The tour will feature training on the first of these solutions, Artisoft InfoFast v1.0 information-on-demand software. The tour will run Nov. 4 - 21 in 16 cities across the U.S. and Canada.
ARTISOFT INFOFAST V1.0
The InfoFast v1.0 software is an affordable, professional solution for businesses that provide 24-hour automated access to fax documents, Web documents and voice recordings via fax or phone. InfoFast includes fax-on-demand and audiotext capabilities along with Dialogic's ProLine/2V voice processing component and CPi/100 fax processing component. It is expected to ship for $1995 MSRP on Nov. 18, 1996. An enhanced version with interactive voice response capabilities is expected to be released in the first half of 1997.
The CT Partner Alliance Program is specifically designed to support the InfoFast v1.0 software and hardware bundled product. The program will be open to all value-added channels, including data VARs, consultants, integrators, interconnect providers, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). It will have two levels of participation (Associate and Advantage Partners), and will provide certification based on product proficiency covering InfoFast v1.0.
Associate-level partners will receive: discounted not-for-resale products; sales and marketing materials; free pre-sales support; special e-mail group access, a bimonthly newsletter, and discounts on technical support.
Advantage-level partners will receive all of the Associate-level benefits plus: limited free technical support; assistance from an assigned territory sales rep; sales and service leads; free training materials; on-going training opportunities, and special World Wide Web access with password protection.
To become certified at the Associate level, partners must complete an annual "profile", offer on-site support, and attend the CT Recruitment and Training Tour seminar. For Advantage certification, partners must complete a biannual "profile", offer on-site support, run Artisoft InfoFast on-site, receive product training and pass a product knowledge test.
TRAINING AND TESTING
Partners will be offered the flexibility of training by either tour seminar attendance, self-guided study, or classroom session.
The InfoFast training seminar will include a briefing of market information and approximately three and one-half hours of comprehensive technical instruction covering topics such as installation, configuration of the hardware components, and demonstration of sample applications. Training sessions will be jointly conducted by Artisoft and Dialogic representatives. Seminar participants will receive a CD-ROM with self-paced training modules, limited free technical support on InfoFast, and a coupon for purchase of the InfoFast hardware/software bundle for $299 - a $1,696 discount from the MSRP price. Tour co-sponsors include distribution partner Ingram Micro and CMP Media.
The self-guided study will be individually paced with training materials jointly developed by Artisoft and Dialogic. The classroom session will be a full day of hands-on instruction at either Artisoft headquarters or in the field, and will also use training materials jointly developed by Artisoft and Dialogic.
After completing the self-guided or
classroom study, partners can arrange for testing at any Sylvan
Prometric center in the United States. Artisoft chose the Sylvan
Prometric centers to assure uniform testing and testing conditions,
and to offer partners the convenience of multiple test locations.
COST AND REGISTRATION
Seminar training will be $189, with discounts for current Artisoft AdvantageSM and PremierSM Partners. Sessions will be held once in each city on the tour. Monday through Thursday sessions will go from 3 to 9 p.m., and Saturday sessions will go from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A catered meal is included in the registration cost.
